I'm yet to find someone ever bothering to runevertise a house that stocks anything I could afford, or use.
So, it's just free recall runes.
You know, those of us who have shops away from the Luna megacenter rely on those runes to get customers to our shops, especially now that people either recall or use sacred journey to get where they want to go rather than taking the time to wander the countryside as we once did. Having people pick up the runes just to mess with us or to get free runes is annoying and very frustrating. You're interfering with our gameplay. I've run a large shop and rune library since 1999 in various locations, and those runes I drop are very important to my business. I'm not into hunting much, crafting and running my shop and interacting with my customers is where my main enjoyment in UO comes from.
I don't drop runes very often, several weeks go by between my rune drops. Nor do I dump dozens of runes in the same spot. Moongates and banks are my usual targets, but I spread them out usually only dropping three or four at a bank. The other day I started dropping my runes in Luna, only to find out that once I went back into the bank, they had all disappeared. I dropped them again, and watched as a stealther followed me around picking them all up. Why? It was so frustrating I gave up and went offline. I play the game to have fun, not to have my stress level raised and not to end up in a bad mood. It was flat out rude.
So for those of you who complain about griefers in the dungeons interfering with your gameplay, think about it. You're doing the same thing to us.
