What happened to the City of the Dead??

I went there to try to kill some undead with a silver wep. what I found there was some savage riders! What happened? Clerics? Sunlight? what happened??

In all Likelyhood they wandered over from the old orc fort that is now a savage base. Was a story/event line from years past. undead still spawn in the area next to it though.

Those of us who have been around a long time have a tendency to call undead slayers "silver weapons".
