2 quick questions about the new stealables for the team to ponder

1. Isn't that drop rate a little too high? Think about this statement:

So a thief with 120 skills stealing from a level 40 monster would have a 15% chance of obtaining a rare drop.
and see if you can see the paradox.

I understand the necessity of not making items so rare that only a few players will have them and thus cause imbalance and resentment.

And I don't think I'm advocating for the drop rate being lowered, just urging that you all give it some more thought before it goes live.

2. Much more important than item 1......Why on earth are any of these items insurable? Isn't it kind of paradoxical? And doesn't it sound kind of fun to have situations wherein a thief steals something, and then another thief takes it from him or her? Thief on thief chase through a Harrower spawn? Or how about thief-centric strategies in Harrower raids? (Want to mess up your rival guild's Harrower strategy? Send in your thief to steal their "Life Shield Lotions," and mess up their Tentacles fighting.)

I am no friend of the thief class or thief playstyle. (I could go into lots more detail but I won't.) But come on now....We're not talking about the Blade of the Righteous here, we're talking about a consumable, that is specifically obtainable by thieving.

Not only would making these items non-insurable throw a bone to PvP thieves, it'll also create another use for Bags of Sending.

What was the reasoning for making them insurable? Perhaps our knowing that will help.

By all means, lets make the game funner for the Champ spawn guilds. After all they're the ones giving the most money to EA, oh wait, that's right, no they're not... :next:

The drop rate is fine, considering that there should be high demand for these consumables, it would be frustrating to keep a vendor stocked if you were spending hours stealing from mobs. You're talking one theft per monster with max of 10% spawn at 120 stealing. And having to work the spawn so there is another mob to steal from. Overall, I think if you wanted to sell those items on, or supply your characters, you'll need to devote a good chunk of time to it. Which is fine.

These items shouldn't be insurable, at all, anywhere. It seems stupid to have the items stealable from monsters but not from players. Surely if you're going to try giving thieves a boost, you'd boost both PvM and PvP thieves. It's logical that thieves will try and steal from each other and from raiding guilds at champs etc. So they should be able to IMO.

And Garth, I'm not sure why you think this is for the champ guilds... anyone can make a thief and acquire these items. If they're changed so they're uninsured in Fel, you can acquire them from any PvPer who carries the darn things if you have a thief. Or loot them from corpses....

In fel: thieves should be able to steal from anyone, mobs, npc's

In tram: thieves should be able to steal from any thief,Mob,Npc

All thieves must join the thiefs guild to be able to steal from Players, Monsters, Dungeon items (inquis, lamposts exc, exc).

Considering it's stated that a given critter can only be stolen from once in its life, and it would then have to be killed before another respawns, it is unlikely there will be a flood.

What is a level 40, 30,000 fame critter?

I think the spawn rate is fine as explained very well here Wenchkin. Not that I would mind if it was deceased.

But I do agree that these items should NOT be insurable. If this is a bone to thieves, then they should not be insurable.

Please EA/Mythic, do not let these items be insurable!
