If in doubt, go with the classics.. ode to joy and maybe selected themes from the nutcracker suite?

Perhaps some traditional tunes from other holidays at this time of year (or have yourself a merry little thinly veiled christmas )

The wedding march would be cool, too. There is plenty of room to expand on this idea. Creepy halloween music, maybe a few with sounds mixed in, Auld Lang Syne, Happy Birthday?

Just thought of something... ROYALTIES! If there isn't a budget for more developers, I doubt there is a budget for royalties.

Yeah, I'm afraid that would be the issue with most songs we are familiar with. I remember reading about the creator of the Happy Birthday song demanding royalties for every time that song was aired on television or radio. =/

Actually, the list of Christmas songs that are not under copyright is quite lengthy and includes a good many most of us would recognize. Obviously, songs such as Irving Berlin's "White Christmas" which were penned in the 20th century are still under copyright, but a lot of familiar old songs are not any longer.

For UO to use them, they would need to make certain that the copyright had expired in all the countries UO is played in, but some songs are so old that no one has a copyright any longer. Some of these would include "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" and "The Twelve Days of Christmas."

they should develop a way to compose music. i don't think they will run into copyright issues as long as they don't allow people to distribute midis/mp3s. make it so people have to use some sort of in-game interface to do it.

I've been asking for new music and/or music system for some time :\ it would be nice, but it probly wont happen sadly
