Good start for Meraktus event?

I have had more than one person ask me "So, have you picked a date yet to go after Meraktus"? Well, I thought it would be a good idea to at least wait until the current event of the invasions are over with first. That way hopefully I can rally enough people to help defeat it. I thought this may be a good way to kinda keep some people interested in the adventure. Check my comment (post #5) here. I just want to keep the event in people's minds.

You can also see what I've had to say about Meraktus here if you like. I know sometimes there are those who only come by Stratics every once in a while.

Just trying to add a little role-play to the whole thing is all. Heck...maybe with a little luck the almighty dev's will take note of my suggestion, adding some interest to the whole thing. Wouldn't it be cool to occasionally spot a minotaur scout poking around Umbra or Luna? Dunno, just thought it would be cool, and give a little more meaning to the "invisible" champ spawn in Labyrinth.

Please follow this link to see the new information that Vallend has dug up regarding Meraktus. More, and more proof that he does indeed exist. I'm still working on figuring out a good date to set it. It should take any where between 2 and 4 hours, with LOTS of people doing lots of damage. Personally I love early morning events on Saturdays. But I'm definitely able to adjust. Does anyone have a suggestion for a date? Friday evenings are good for lots of players, Saturdays are usually good, Sundays are hit and miss for some.

I've also been reading up on how to record on my computer, kind of like a camcorder program er something. To capture the event and Meraktus. If I can't figure out how to use it, then screen-shots will have to do.

Im not on Catskills But i can tell you a fun spawn is the Pestilence Spawn Of Bedlam! now that is fun and Good titles:- Expunger Of the Corrupt!! and hard...Very,Very confined space. Alot of area cast Fetid essences Generaly, a woot! DC completed it on Great Lakes the other week, let me know how you get on itll be an interesting read

After much consideration I feel it would be best to set a date of "attack" on the Meraktus champion spawn after publish 57. That way players can actually have a reason for going. There will actually be rewards that way.

Now, this doesn't mean that "lesser" groups of myself and others won't be trying it from time to time. I plan on going there off and on through the week. I'm betting we don't have to drag the ole' Rend into the mix. Hopefully we can leave him up front, kinda near where the Miasma spawns, near the stairs and water. He is a meanie.

Future Labyrinth reports will be updated here. Hmm, I wonder if I can find a bovine slayer/mage weapon.

Look into fraps for capturing video/audio. I have the full lisenced version and it works great. I make custom songs for Guitar Hero on my PC and do previews on youtube so I need reliable screen capturing software.. I use Vegas Pro to compile everything after I record.

On either adventure, Meraktus or Bedlam, ye can count a few pirates in! I don't care whether ye do it before the next update, or after. Send me word in advance, so I can prepare the crew (I guess most of them haven't done the quest yet, which you need to get access to Bedlam).

I have been taking a few of the "younger" pirates through the Bedlam quest, as it is quite the fun place to chat with dead things... including the other pirates!

But yeah, I'm up for all adventures, time permitting.

There wont be any rewards(Scrolls or replicas) from that spawn, its not an official spawn (reason why theres no title)

There are replicas rewarded from killing Meraktus. There are not scrolls rewarded for killing the spawn.

Hmm. Well, this is not me trying to start an argument, but rather me seeking out information. On one hand I have Vallend reporting to everyone that there will indeed be rewards. And on the other hand I have RichDC saying that there won't. Obviously both of you can't be correct. I wish there were a way to directly contact a dev and ask them what the case is about the Labyrinth "champ spawn". Unless someone has the ability to contact one? To my knowledge an actual Game Developer rarely replies directly to us gamers.

Therefore, the best way to figure it out would be to test it, right? Like I said, both of you can't be right. Eh?

I'll try to post this question in UHall to see if I get any feedback, and if I do, I'll bounce back what I hear in this thread. Until then I fully intend on at least trying to go after the fabled Meraktus.

This makes me wonder if this particular spawn doesn't hold by the rules of contribution however. I could speculate this spawn functions as a boss only situation where working the spawn gets you no bonus.

Correct. The Labyrinth uses a completely different system. The altar is actually the one tracking who contributes to leveling the spawn. So for the time being, anyone who gets looting rights on Meraktus has an equal chance at the rewards.

I intend to do a thorough revision in the future on the way this specific spawn works. But I'm not going to give any ETA on that. One thing for sure is it won't be in Pub 57.

Fixed an issue with Meraktus the Tormented not resetting properly.

So I think after the pub is a good time to test our skills against the big guy.

I agree Farsight. I hope to be one of the few that will get a chance to see quite possibly one of the rarest creatures in the game.

Of coarse with the publish hitting, maybe the reward items will make that spawn a bit more popular. :-D

I'm glad your intrest is captured. I'm just trying to figure out if a repond slayer works on minotaurs at this point.

The nice part about Meraktus is there are no "keys" to have to get first.
