Why do you have to bash the Dev's? Can't you simply just ask a question?

You also need to understand the Dev's don't frequent these boards. They pop in every once in awhile, but they are actually working; not browsing the internet.

If you want an answer to a question, submit it for the FoF, call customer service, or PM Joanne, the community rep.

I think they already posted info on the characters needing to be a certain # of days old. Since they never really post an exact date/time for distributing gifts, or even if they do... there are often last minute snags that lead to delays you might want to build a little leeway in and activate a few days before.

From my experience with housing issues, it's the individual character's age, not the account age that is taken into account for certain functions. In other words, I've had a re-activated vet account create a new char that could not accept a house, however a previously established character on that same account could take the house.

Will this work the same for gifts? I don't know... but you would be better off sending the question directly to EA rather than posting it here.

Um, I'm not getting your payments so if you decide to not reactivate that's fine with me. If you've been posting the questions here... you're posting in the wrong place. EA has a website and you can submit questions to them directly.

Sorry to break the news to you but the Dev's aren't required to answer every question or every topic that starts with "ZOMG DEVZ PLZ ANSWER!!!!11".

I will say that in the past I have reactivated an account during the time gifts were being given out and I did receive them on all characters that were created before the account went inactive.

I have done this many times. The chars simply have to be 30 days old at any point during the time frame of gifts. You can open the account after the gifts have started and as long as the chars is 30 days old before the gift period ends you will get the gifts at log in. I usually wait till I get the gifts on my other accounts before I decide to re-open my closed accounts.

So, I guess in trying to be tricky and get gifts you don't deserve... you only cheat yourself? Hmmm? That's kinda funny actually. Now send me that $$ you were gonna give to EA and I'll just set aside some gifts from my multiple Veteran accounts and give em to you. Okay?

Heck, usually a few days after a massive "gift dump" folks are leaving them on the ground anyway so why worry about it. (But you can still pay me if you want to.)

Well, I'd feel better if you were in game, having fun! And it seems awful risky "toggling" your account to refresh your castle. There was a post from some poor lad on Atlantic just the other day who didn't refresh in time and lost a castle!

I would be happy to let you transfer it to one of my continually maintained accounts, for safekeeping! I'd even give you all the xmas gifts from the "castle holder" account! Heck, I'll toss in some stuffy animals too!

There, killed two birds with one stone. Now, where should I meet you to take that pesky castle off you hands and to deliver your xmas gifts?

chars have to be 30 days old to receive the gifts. i would imagine if you reactivate an older account that has existing chars on it (older than 30 days) that they'd get the gifts in their pack as long as you reactivate between the start of gift giving (pub 57) and the end of gift giving (jan 19, 2009).

did you page a GM last year when you reactivated your account(s) and your older-than-30-days chars still didn't get their gifts? (not saying that would have helped, given how "helpful" gm's tend to be, but still...)

Der, according to the context of the explanation--which I quoted above--the 30-day window pertains to the age of your character(s), NOT to the age of your account or your most recent active billing cycle.

In other words, according to the official website, yes, you will be able to reactivate your account and log in to the game to receive your gifts this year-- up to and including January 19, 2009.

Whether or not the official website is entirely correct, some might say, is a matter for debate. Personally, I suggest erring on the side of caution, or at the very least, paranoia.

To each his own ofc but wouldnt you hope that the Dev's would maybe prioritize questions and answer ones concerning ACTIVE accounts first?
Contrary to the belief of all the Doombringing semi-inactive players, Uo is ok and in no way do the Dev's need to be begging malcontents to reactivate accounts for only 1 month.

I realize that the OP also has active accounts but lets please concentrate on those maybe?

i recieved the gtc codes these day´s, so i dont want the same misery as last year,i am under the 30 day gift release date(expecting them in the next 10 days)

Since it hasn't been said that I can see, I note that sometimes when you first log on, you don't get the gifts. You have to run your characters to the bank and even then sometimes you have to log out and then log back in. Maybe this is what happened to you last year.

yes, you are right, ITEMS, i love items
sometimes if the items are worthy, then i do shard trading also, i have still 150 soulstone tokens and this green tokens (cant remember the name)
items,castle and events(not all) are the only thing that hold me here.

There have been numerous mentions about how the holiday system works. If your questions haven't been answered from them, then I doubt they will get answered. I feel that this topic doesn't merit a dev's response.

If I really wanted a chance at extra gifts, then I would have re-opened my closed accounts for that opportunity. If I wasn't sure if they would be 'worth it' then I would wait til they were release. Either way, I wouldn't demand a developer's response for something so trivial. Either re-open your account(s) or don't.
