Wondering how much of a undertaking it would be to possibly increase the pages in a purchased book? The current ones have 40 pages. Would love to have ones that were say 100 pages. Probably not the most urgent of things but I for one could make use of them!

My memory may be incorrect, but it seems that when you go to buy a blank book from an NPC, there are several kinds (blue, red, etc.) and I think one of them actually does have a lot more pages to it. I just can't remember which one!

The blue have 40, the other one has 20.

This is something I have also posted about. My suggestion was to make books as long as there you want, so you fill up a page, another bank page appears, until you are done, or cap it at something high if need be.

I've written plenty of books in UO, and had intentions to do many more, but the constrictions of the short books, coupled with my unwillingness to sacrifice like 3-5 books for a decent sized story put an end to those further inclinations.

Longer books would be great, and seems like it would be easy to do.

Seriously, more pages would give us more pointless babble from those "Defining Success" Archie comic books I find laying around.

As a fellow Scribe and Librarian, I whole heartedly agree with Morpheus. I was also always rather peaved about the fact that in 3D, book titles could be made much longer, when you scrolled over the book to see it's name. You could see the entire name in 2D but just could not write a longer title unless you had the 3D client.

Having just installed the KR client, I find the same is true for writing titles with it. I'll have to play with it a bit more to see how the context appears though since my first attempt at writing the material within did not appear in 2D as I intended it to. It seems that it cut off sentences in 2D after being written in KR. That is possibly because the individual lines of the book appear in a gump of the page and are much longer as well, actually allowing for more material.

In that sence, a book written in KR and viewed in KR has much more space to write in, but would be cut short for anyone who views it in 2D. And yes there are still only 40 pages. Eventhough it shows 41, the last page can be written, but will not show in KR or in 2D.

There really are two things I would like, a 100 page book and a scroll that would hold the same amount of text as the 2d client profile.
