Wraith form minimum skill req

Hey yall,

I used to be able to (up until about a month ago) get into Wraith form with 26 Spirit Speak (13 on a bracelet and 13 on a talisman). It seemed to happen right around when i put the Quiver of Infinity on, but probably just a coincidence.

I have recently tried to get into wraith form, and fizzle over and over and over. I used to fizzle 4 out of 5 cast attempts, but it worked. Now i fizzle 30 in a row and never succeed. And i give up before something bad happens to my beloved G15 keyboard.

Anyone know if there was a patch that caused anything funky like this to happen?

Edit: I am also Human, so the jewels and tali are just to help succeed on the cast sooner. Before someone says "did you forget your jewels?", i should be able to succeed the cast with just JOAT anyway.

Spirit Speak has nothing to do with your ability or inability to get into wraith form.

That is based on your Necromancy skill. And yes, you can get into Wraith with just 20 necro, but I've found that it takes a long time to get lucky. I tried getting into wraith at a baracoon once after the coon popped. The baracoon died before I was ever successful in casting wraith.

The spirit speak just impacts the amount of mana leeched back while being in wraith form.

*edit* and what talisman gives you 13 spirit speak??

Thanks for clarifying Lynk, I'm new to Necro/SS/SW/etc. and had my details mixed up.

I actually have the Bloodwood Spirit Talisman, so its +10 not +13 like i was thinking it was. : /3

Maybe the RNG gods were with me last month or something, becuase I swear I could successfully cast Wraith form within 10 tries.

But now it just fails over and over. I tried again last night and fizzled 25 in a row before giving up.

Anywho, guess i'll just buy a +13 necro ring and stack a few pieces to get to about 30 and see what happens then.

Imho there was something in a publish recently that did make necro, mystic and sw scrolls work like magery scrolls, better success chance at lower skill levels.

Using a scroll is a good idea because you don't lose the scroll when you fizzle. It's what I do anyway.

Ty for the advice yall.

I found a ring with necro on it in my bank (in an old bag of stuff), and I have 31 necro with ring/amulet/bloodwood. I am able to cast wraith form within about 4-7 tries now on average.

However with the insurance cost on the jewels, it may be a better idea to just use scrolls. I'll try that, thanks.
