The title says it all.

I'd like to keep magery (115) if possible.

Sorry but this isnt really a TAMER template

It is more of a PvP template.

As with any template what do you want to do with it?

If all you want to do is hide and farm silver (the only) PvM use for this then your template doesnt matter as you only need 4 skill sets, Taming, Lore, Hide, Stealth; this will allow you to tame / control your pet and sit there while they kill, You can add any other skills you want to the other end.

+ Vet to be able to heal / res Pet
+ Chive to be able to move around Cure / Heal
+ Magery to move / Cure / Heal
+ Mystic for more damage
+ SW
+ Necro
+ Cooking
+ Fishing
+ Tailoring

?????

Again templates are based of what you ant to do with them and stealth Tamers are a Nuiscence in PvP which is what i thikn you are looking for

Stealth - 80 = 120 with easy items
Hide - 50 = = 100 with items
Tame - 95 = 110 with easy Imbued Jewels
Lore - 95 = 110 with easy Imbuded Jewels
vet - 95 = 110 with easy Imbuded Jewels
Chiv - 90
- 105
- 105

as you see there are two 105 empty slots to fill with whatever you desire??

Re: Sorry but this isnt really a TAMER template

No offence, but I think Weins' advice is a fine illustration of why so many tamers suck in pvp. What he is suggesting requires 145 points in skills on your suit. I think it would be extremely difficult to make a proper pvp suit with that many skill points on it. You might be able to hide, stealth, and control your pet, but you will still suck, and you and your pet will die all the time to anyone who knows how to pvp.

For one thing, you don't need 110 vet in pvp. 80 with enhanced bandages will do quite nicely. If you are planning on using a dragon, you will either want to be a gargoyle, or you will need ninja. I would suggest you have magery at 120 with a -20 one handed mage weapon, and +20 magery in your suit so you will have a weapon skill and the ability to chug pots, either that or actually have a weapon skill, such as throwing if you are a gargoyle, or swords if you have ninja. As ninja works so well in combination with stealth and hiding, I would suggest ninja over being a gargoyle, or be both, that extra 5 hci is very nice.

One thing I would definitely suggest you look into is Pinco's UO Template Editor. It makes working out your template and suit, much easier. It allows you to see how any artifact in the game would work for you, as well as design imbued pieces. The critical things for a tamer in pvp are mobility, the ability to heal both yourself and your pet (and vet only works in the context of fighting another pet), and some kind of 120 weapon skill with high dci for defence.

No i agree my designe will suck in PvP

I was just cranking out a simple Stealth Template and since the OP didn't say what it was for i was kinda stating the Stealth Tames are really just a PvP design so more info is needed.

Oh i know what a PvP needs and should look like and mine would get mangled, but for PvM it is SOLID even thow stealth in Pvm ia a joke

Somehow looking at his name and his avatar, I just assumed he was talking about pvp... :)

Ok, to make a stealth tamer basically you pick the taming template you want, then slot in 100 hiding and whatever stealth skill will squeeze in. If you need to use skill items for stealth, they're fairly plentiful so you should find it fairly straightforward.

So, what basic template to start with? Well, you need to consider what you're going to do with the tamer and your choice of playstyle. Also, if it's your first and only tamer, you probably don't want to make a really specialised template which can only blossom in limited situations.

The template I run as a stealther is my main go-anywhere one. It's designed for taming as well as PvM and if necessary, PvP too. You don't need to have the full 120 in taming skills, I'd actually recommend you try with 110 or so and divide the rest of the skill between your magery and stealth skill.

120 taming
120 lore
120 vet
100 magery
100 hiding
100 herding/eval or med (soulstone swapping ftw)
60 in stealth + items as necessary

It's not an uber gimplate template, but it works very nicely. You can add any expensive gear or whatever as you want, but it really isn't necessary IMHO. I like it for taming new pets and scouting, and if a group of PvPers try to set about me, it's very nice for avoiding the dirt nap and making a clean getaway. I can fight if I want too, but it's entirely optional ;)

unless your pvp tamer is also your main tamer you do not need 120s..

110 taming 30 skill on jewlery + 5 on the tali to bring to 115 for stable slots
110 lore 20 skill on jewlery + 5 on tali to bring to 115 for stable slots
will control everything but a bane dragon i think 100% of the time.

80 vet is fine to res your pet, you wont be vetting it.. most of the time you tell it to attack someone and stealth off.. being a pvp tamer is more of defense then offense.. unless your going with one of those pvp fighter temps.. but those dont have stealth.

100 stealth is too much, you only need 80
100 hiding
100 magery will beable to cast invis 100% of the time.. what else you casting?

my stealth tamer has necro and spirit speak.

so here is my temp.. pvp human char,
lots of hp+ and mana + he has 45 dci 40 lmc, all 70s
255 stats
like 130 hp, 160 mana, 30 dex
you cant really 1v1 pvp but why would you want to with a stealth tamer?

80 taming 30 on jewelery + 5 tali (115)
90 lore 20 on jewelery + 5 tali (115)
80 vet
90 magery 10 on jewelery (100)
100 hiding
80 stealth
100 necro
100 spirit speak

your jewelery will be like
15 taming
10 lore
5 magery
8 lmc
15 dci
thats 499/500

the only arty i used is the folded steel glasses.. its 15 dci, plus good resists.

imbue suit with
lmc, hp+ mana+ and lrc + 1 resist

you can do it right you will get all 70s, with 40 lmc, like 40 mana and i think 20 hp+ and 100 lrc.

its kinda a gimp pvp template, but pretty good.. hard to kill..

you can trade necro/ss for mystic/focus, med/eval.. whatever..
