What is it about schools of fish?

What dark spell has been cast upon them which causes them to repel fishing bobbers? And why is it that as your skill goes up, your ability to hit those schools seems to deteriorate?

I want answers!

Ha! So I am not the only one that has troubles hitting those pools. Even right on the edge of them, not good enough! You gotta be right on them.

The other day as I was fishing I caught the book that teaches you how to detect for those pools of fish, have you caught it yet?
