Vampiric Form and Soul Stones?

Its been a while since I last played UO. Can you still cast VE and soul stone Necromancy off without it breaking VE? Is there a timer on using soul stones? Thanks in advance for answers.

nowadays you have to keep necro on to maintain VE. If you stone it off VE will go poof. The timer on Soulstones has been removed though.
