We will perform an extended maintenance on the following shards, Tuesday January 15th, at 8:00 am EST (13:00 GMT):

  • Lake Austin
  • Baja
  • Napa Valley
  • Sonoma
  • Pacific
  • Origin
At this time we anticipate that the shards will be back online no later than 1:00 pm EST (18:00 GMT).

Can they hold off messing up these shards for a while and unmess up the east coast shards first?

Would be a lot happier if we had some indication that the reported problems on 'upgraded' shards are understood and being resolved before they move on to possibly create those issues for even more customers......

While that would be nice to know, there is nothing to indicate that EA will EVER show up here (or anywhere else for that matter) to tell us what they are doing and/or why...

Hopefully someone high up the food chain there got a high enough grade point average on their business degree and realizes that letting customer service get so bad it hits the bottom of the barrel tends to really hurt the bottom line. From the customer viewpoint, that barrel is looking pretty empty of at least GMs.

Of course, they have been laying off the people that produce & support their products. I wonder if the upper three quarters of the food chain there has been trimmed down as much as the productive lower quarter has.

The company, obviously, has no one (in a high enough place to have a say in the matter) - that is able to see the opportunity to increase (significantly) their bottom-line with an already established legacy product. And that's a real shame... What we are left with is just enough effort to keep the product "afloat" as it were... What we all here know, is that they are missing a fantastic opportunity and, once again, it's a real shame...
