Turning newbie leather gloves into something useful

anyone know if "newbie" leather gloves remain newbified if enhanced with arcane gems?

Going back about 4 years, you could enhance newbied gloves with arcane gems, but they were no longer newbied.

Going back about 2 years, you could not enhance newbied gloves with arcane gems, as it gave the standard 'you may only use this on blah blah blah' message.

Now? I have no idea. Or gloves.

IIRC, you can only use arcane gems on exceptional made items.

That's correct. Only exceptionally crafted items can become arcane. Sorry.

And on that note, I read recently in uhall about using a CBD blessing on the tok minor, kasa of the rajin (sp?). Anyone tried that yet?

Ya, it's been tried. The CBD will only work on items with no properties and with total resists 55 or less (I think).
