It had been several weeks since Valcor, Chief Scout of Trinsic , had been sent to investigate the evil believed to be dwelling in the swamps, evil that threatened the safety and well being of all who lived in Trinsic and beyond. Trinsic Governor Lord Cauchemar had requested that all who would aid in the search for the missing scouts assemble in a search party on Sunday , October 4.

As the time of departure approached, one could see many valiant and courageous souls who turned out to aid Governor Cauchemar in the search for the missing scouts. We were told they had gone out of the city on the road toward the scout camp, so we ventured forth looking for clues.

Alas, our first clue was a journal left by Valcor saying that when he arrived at the scout camp, all the fine citizens there had been slain by some evil force. Valcor said that he would venture farther up the road to try to find evidence of what type of evil this was. We continued up the road searching for more clues. A second journal was found secreted in the guard tower, near the swamp. In it Valcor said he would be heading North East toward the swamp.

We headed that direction, when suddenly we were attacked by extreme evil denizens of the swamp. A Swamp Lord of horrifying strength, swamp tentacles that could barely be scathed. We knew not what could have increased their strength so greatly. When we were attacked by a being so difficult to fight, it could only be evil magic that sustained it. Lytol the Unseen was the name of this foul foe, and it seemed that it healed itself by taking the energy of its fallen foes! The rumors of evil spawning in the swamps were true!

A furious battle ensued between those valiant and courageous souls who answered the call to defend our beloved lands from evil. For some time very little headway was made, but some of our band began to discover weakness in the enemy –Nature’s Fury descended upon Lytol the Unseen. Archers continued to shoot, mages cast spells. The battle was long and tiring , but we were encouraged by Governor Cauchemar, who called, “FIGHT DO NOT WAVER”. At long last the enemy was slain.

We were in hopes that Valcor might have been saved. When we called to ask where he might be, he suddenly appeared, and let us know he had been rescued. There was great rejoicing!

Governor Cauchemar expressed his deepest thanks for all who came to the aid of Trinsic! His words to us were, “Thank you for saving Trinsic again!”
