Time to change veteran robes?

Is it just me or are the vet reward robes/cloaks/dresses completely obsolete? I think it would be cool if we could make them relevant again.

Maybe make the gold robes-cloaks have luck on them instead of some weak physical resists?

I feel like the later robes should be comparable to the conjuror's robe, right?

That would be nice. I have a couple of vet robes from years ago I sort of regret picking. I'd love to be able to exchange the for something useful.

Veteran Rewards have historically been items that didn't contribute much if at all to combat value, changing the robes would break this tradition. though with the availability of them and available from year 1, I don't see a major issue in doing so.

The Robes used to be a great way to show off your account age and veteran status, unfortunately, the fact that the mods are so poor compared to what is readily available and the fact that everyone concentrates on maximising the usable slots. Its a shame really, after AoS when we moved onto the Neon robes they very much went down hill. Would be nice to see them be turned into something useful.

What would be nice would be MR, LMC, SSI, or something of that nature... resists are a dime a dozen and with imbuing people don't need them on things like robes and such... what we need are the things that are more difficult to add. As they are I think I have one of almost every color but they sit in a chest never to see use or the light of day again since in their present state they are just useless.

Maybe we could give the cloaks the 3 Phys and 5 DCI (like the quiver of infinity) and say the gold one could have luck instead?

Robes could go 5 DCI + 3 Resist and maybe after 8 years we could add the 2 mana regen like conjurors robe? or 1 mana regen?

Just bouncing stuff off you guys. I don't think the solution is to keep adding items to this game but to make the items we have relevant again (just like in my Doom thread)

If you could still use them at any age, like other tradable veteran rewards, sure.. Otherwise it would be the opposite direction or where they been moving lately.. A direction they need to stay on for UOs future.

I personally don't think 1-2 mana regen would make or break anything if someone is under the 8 year mark would it?

It's about keeping the game open to fresh blood, what J. E. also talks about, those things are tradable however, so if they get gold they can buy em.. if something is needing 8 years to equip, be it of lesser importance or not.. it's a turn off.

Problem is (aside from duping) there will never be more of those items than there are in the game today. There will likely be fewer. Veteran reward items are at least obtainable.

Veteran Rewards don't seem obtainable if you are a fresh player and need to subscribe for 8 years to wear something, though yes .. agree otherwise
