I have a question for the OP:

As we all know, not everyone may be as skilled at others in telling these tales... I want to know if someone posts screenshots, without capturing the audience with their story telling abilities... Will they be equally considered for value of item, and difficulty of theft?

Seems almost all the winners have an elaborate story line to back the screenshots...

It will be considered entirely on the item and the difficulty of the theft. More so the latter than the former. To me, the challenge is what makes playing a thief fun. Don't worry about fancy stories if you don't want.

Stories just add to the overall humor involved in being a thief. Everyone here will appreciate a theft that simply shows you stole something
a) from a difficult mark
b) in a difficult situation
c) of substantial value
d) under some generally humorous circumstances
e) that proves stealing still occurs in this game
