Classic targeting in the EC has a bug that makes it not able to act the same as the CC's targeting, in the CC when you set a target on an item then attack you maintain your "last target" on said item, on the EC when set to classic targeting which is supposed to act the same as the CC the "last target" swaps to the actual player as soon as you hit him.
