Tactics Gain As An Archer?

I've posted this on the Archers Forum as well. I'm wondering if anyone has any tips/tricks to gaining Tactics on an Archer. I'm getting approximately 4x the gains on all other Combat skills as Tactics.
What am I doing wrong? Any advice for a newbie Archer?
