Since Necro/Tom is fairly new to selling rares (He usually just keeps them) he asked me to take care of the auction for him.

This is a UNIQUE 1 of a kind item that was given out at the Catskills event on Monday September 6th 2010.

The starting bid will be 500m. This is firm.
The auction ends at 9pm (EST). This is also firm.

If a bid is placed within 10 minutes of the end of the auction; the auction will be extended 10 minutes. This is to keep it fair for everyone bidding.

(**This means if you place a bid at 8:59pm; the auction will then be extended to 9:09pm.**)

The item is located on Catskills.
You can pick up the item on Catskills or pay 20mill extra (If you win the auction; add 20million to it) for it to be transferred to a shard of your choice.

Only bids VIA this post will count; so you won't have to worry about any stealth bids.

I will do my best to keep this thread updated.

I WOULD BE INTERESTED IN YOUR ITEM AND I WILL BID 500 MIL FOR. I HAVE BEEN ON CATS FOR 13 YEARS, AND KEEPING IT HERE WOULD BE THE RIGHT THING TO DO.

Don't worry, there is another team from Catskills working on this so no reason to bid against each other from the same shard. I am sure that team will make themselves apparent here soon.

My bid of 500m in the other thread, I'm assuming, would be carried over to this thread.

This bid is from Coalition Of Catskills Museums (CCM) and the standard, if won, would be permanently enshrined on Catskills.

hmmm, so a change back to the original seller AND a proxy bidder for Flutter. A hard ending time of 9 pm eastern, with the standard extension times that most auctions have today, then a SOLID end time imposed by the owner and second auctioneer of 9:30 pm eastern....

Guess I'll wait til 9:29.99999 to click my bid in?

But my plast bid was place at 9:06 so the time would only have been extended to 9:16 for another bid.

Ok so what's the call on this. When I talked to Tom last night about the proxy stuff I asked him to clarify and my understanding was that if the bidding went past 9pm he'd cap it at 9:30 (as posted by him above)

IF we have a misunderstanding somehow it's all good I'll just take it out on NBG.

That's why I basically waited until the end?

So you said take only update from you or necro and it was updated by one of you.

I'll agree that it should be done over, I mean you(Tom) did ICQ me and tell me I was winning high bid with 1B when I got home. (And NBG did actually post in that time frame just not with a bid bc he thought he had till 9:30)


But not right now, I'm going to bed.

I think the rules were quite clear.

1. If bid comes in during the last 10 min before 9pm Eastern. The auction continues for 10 additional minutes.

2. This will continue until 9:30pm which is the absolute hard deadline.

3. New Thunder put in a bid at 9:06 and during that time no bids came through until after 9:16 specifically at 9:28 which should have been disqualified. So New Thunder wins.

Yeah, I was thinking this too. Weird thing to me is, there would have been no difference whatsoever if they (since there were two auctioneers!) had simply said at the beginning, "9pm Eastern is the hard and fast deadline.", because changing this to 9:30 really didn't do anything except make it f'ing confusing.

Congrats to NewThunder regardless :)
