I've really no idea. I'd be interested to hear what others have to say due to the following:

1. The changes in intensities per the development team.
2. The pain it has become to collect the leather to fill the bods for the rewards because of BOS changes.

i run mostly naked and either gate alot or have a pack animal hidden somewhere that i can run too, i agree its a big pain in the butt. (i can say butt can't i?)

Since you make armor on a regular basis, do the intensities warrant an increase in the kit prices?

I only make gm armour I'm afraid. Only time I've used a runic kit is when someone gave me one and asked me to make for them, I rarely look what it's produced since it's not mine. I just hand the lot over to whoever provided the kit and leather.

Bearing in mind the armslore bonus to resists will be greater on Siege than on test, I'd say spined kits are no longer useless decor, however the number of properties remains the same, as can be seen sometimes the properties only go into resists, no other properties.
