Just some thoughts on the subject:
Role Playing includes but is not limited to:
Acting or playing the part of a character whom knows only
what is in his world apparent. When role playing any talk
of what is not part of the world in which he lives is a foul,
this includes things such as items or locations not existing in
the characters world, talk of game mechanics , real life issues,
etc...
knowledge of other shards and similiar things is up for debate
but i would think a character wouldnt know of such things, he/she
lives in a medieval type world with simple surroundings, although
magic and such things do exist i wouldnt think one would know of such
grand things.
In short basically you are being that character, knowing only what
a reasonable character in that world would know.
to speak out of character most use the (OOC) code before their statement
or ((OOC)),etc
Also some examples:
A RP character wont know what a pker is,he would know what a murderer
is, a character wont know or talk about the game itself or his past
or present deeds as a person playing the game but only as that character.
Im sure there is much more and others may have things to add or disagree
with/debate what i am saying.
I am not and dont claim to be an expert in role playing ,these are my opinions, but thought this
topic may help some get info on the subject ,learn, and teach others including
me by contributing to the topic.
