I'm not sure what concessions you feel were made, but whether or not it interested you, Factions was woven into the fictional fabric of UO and that was important to more than you may care to acknowledge. A system that provides a fast paced, easy-in/easy-out PvP experience and a system that has impacts on the fictional constructs of the game are not mutually exclusive.How can you design a serious PVP system then turn around and say concessions have to be made for role-playing? This is ridiculous.
Only some people are interested in purely fighting? Try most or the vast majority or basically everyone.
