...does anyone know if there is a public bulletin board within Yew? I had thought there was supposed to be at least one in every "founding" city.

Skara Brae = 1 board
Minoc = 1 board
Trinsic = 1 board
Vesper = 1 board
Yew = unknown
Magincia = blown up
Cove = none
Bucs den = unknown

Well, actually...does anyone possibly have a total "Public bulletin board" count? But yeah...Yew is the one I'm most curious about. I've spent most of the day running around Yew looking for one.

Try at empath abbey or near the heartwood enterance. I've heard people say Yew is a no good backwater (that's a summation) mainly ic but still i like it better than trinsic and luna and magnicia before it was blown up those sandstone cities suck.

I did think of that Scarst, but sadly the only place near where the moongate is to Heartwood that I thought would possibly have a board was the Yew Counselors Guild building. But it is completely empty, aside from the red carpet in there. And I did not locate one inside the Abby either. A side note though: does anyone know how to get on top of the abby? I can see white teleporters up there.

Ah well, I continue searching Trinsic, maybe there is one there. I'm starting to wonder if there is just not one in Yew?

Same way you get on other roof tops.

Turn off circle of transparency, open the door and stand in the doorway just at the edge of the building, cast a teleport spell and target the roof a few inches away from yourself.
Once up there you can stand at the edge of those roof dividers and teleport into the next part of the roof. Have to target at an angle into the next section and not directly in front of you or you'll get a "cannot see" type message.
Don't forget to mark a rune once you get up there or you'll have to do it again,

There are other ways to get up that you have to use in some different situations. If you want to know i'd pretty much have to show you because it's annoying to explain.

The entire quest system has been turned off for ages regarding those old boards.

Long ago they where linked to the local escorts, and I believe in Fel there was an old bounty system tied to them where you could pay the board money write in a name and if anyone doped that head they got paid.... put people made alts with the same names to steal gold and GMs got tired of the enforcing "you cannot impersonate other players rule".

Thats why in all the other MMOs players must have names that are unique - in UO, you can make a pile of people named the same.

I think it was a mistake due to UO being the first MMO, but it's a change that can't be done now - as people with established characters and backstories will hiss and bite should you force a name change on them.

I think it highly possible that due to the fact that most of us in the Yew area cannot read, they have decided that placing a bullitin board within the city to be a waste of lumber.

I have not seen any boards in the area other then those on player housing.

Thank you Moonwynd I'll give it a shot. And yeah Marcus Blackwell I did look there, didn't see any though.

I use the public bulletin boards as part of my player run event. That is why I was wondering if there is a "magical list" somewhere of all the boards. I've never even seen one inside of any runebook library.

I do like to find oddities that still linger in the game that few people use. Like, that water purifier inside the solen hives. It does still operate. Just something neat.

And wouldn't be nice if there was something that could be done with that giant telescope inside the center of the hedge maze?

Any lemme' know if they find a Yew bulletin board, please? I did manage to find one inside of Trinsic. If there is more than one inside Trinsic though, then toss me a heads up?
