Pen of Wisdom and Runic Atlas ...

So, I am a little bit behind the times and just discovered the Runic Atlas. It allowed me to condense 16 runebooks into four runic atlases and I want to do that for all the rest of my toons as well - there are 18 total.

To copy the books the old fashioned way would probably take an entire day - if I were able to just focus on it and do it without interruption, but that's not possible. So I broke out my pen of wisdom, scribed a few thousand Mark scrolls, and went to get down to business ... only get this message: "This item only works on runebooks or runic atlas."

WTH? I am trying to use it on a RUNIC ATLAS. I've sent in a bug report and requested a GM ... but it's been a few hours of waiting to hear anything.

Is this an issue for anyone else?

We feel your pain. Nobody knows why they didn't make it compatible with the runic atlas when they were introduced.

I did the same thing. It says it works on them but does not. Do they plan on fixing it

I have one nooby question... do i need the runebook i want to copy in my bagpack? Or can i copy some books from a library this way?

You need to have access to the book either in your backpack or be a co-owner or friend. You cannot just go to a public house and copy locked down runebooks.
