I cant find anything on them. What are they used for and where can you get them?

The Rose of Trinsic was originally one of the choices for the 7th anniversary gift. Now you can get one through a heritage token as well.

Each petal gives you a bonus (+5 strength I think) for a short time.

Yup - +5 (about 2 HP). Cannot take more than 1 at a time tho.

Five minutes I think. I've been using them a lot lately and that seems to be the maximum duration.

Now about those orange petals....
