How come there are no houses in the swamp? Theres maybe 1 or 2 but is it not allowed anymore or something?

It may depend on which swamp you're talking about. But yes, I've noticed that there are some places in the swamp where homes seem to be owned by Origin and you can no longer place there.
Would this maybe up the value of the house if its in the swamp, somehow? lol

doubt it, most people dont care for swamps and the spawn is often a bit heavy and can get annoying.
It may increase the cost of a castle or keep though as some locations in swamps that previously fit one or the other is no longer available.
