Both moons of Trammel and Felucca were represented well on the 2nd. Warriors of the realm gathered on Flesh and Blood steeds, as was both the request and the tradition, to cross lances. They met in NuJel'm. The sand surrounding the checkerboard seemed to take in every bit of sound and amplified it filling the crowd and the participants with a sense of memorium. Family, friends, enemies and everything in between filed onto the benches. Stray pieces of hay had just begun to catch and twist in the dry heated breeze when Fortunata took her seat of respect in the center of the field.
One by one they filled into the space between the tables and the field. Anxiousness poured from them. Barely contained beneath the surface they went single file as introductions were made.
As per Joust rules and tradition, it wasn't one by one that decided the outcome. It was two by two. Agostino, Marcus Aurelius, Lady Crazy Ace, Lt. Snuggles, Arahim, Magdalena and Paytience paired up and squared off. There were sideline bets placed on who would unhorse who and of course bets placed on who would ultimately win.
