Tonight a vigilante group disguised as hooded monks gathered in the Miller's shop in the City of Yew. After swearing an oath of secrecy to the other brethren to never reveal their true identities or the identity of their ringleader; a plan was set in motion to free Lady Aino Nystad from the clutches of her jailer.
Scouts reported that four Royal Guardsmen were stationed around the prison cart holding Lady Nystad outside of the gates of the Yew Prison. The brethren agreed to not slay a Royal Guard unless absolutely necessary to free Lady Nystad. We daubed savage kin paint on our faces to enhance our disguise and then slowly walked up the road to the prison cart.
At the prison cart, we secured the area, searching for reinforcements that the Royal Guards may have called after seeing such a large armed group of men approach. When no reinforcements arrived, our leader attempted to parlay with Jailer Brice.
Jailer Brice unleashed a tirade of scorn in response, claiming that Lady Nystad was no longer a Captain or able to receive visitors and blamed her fall from the King's grace on associating with the King's enemies such as thieves, weak barons, dark temptresses and others. Since it was impossible to convince the Royal Guards to stand down, abandon their posts or release Lady Nystad, the brethren killed all of them!
When the smoke cleared there were four dead Royal Guards! The brethren tried all manner of ways to free Lady Aino Nystad while keeping a watchful eye for reinforcements. Some tried to pry and bend the bars of the cart, others tried to smash the anti-magus crystals keeping Nystad from escaping by magical means, others tried to startle the beasts of burden that pulled the cart. However, we failed to release Lady Nystad and she remains the King's prisoner.
