Tonight (Sunday, June 12, 2011) the Summerfest 2011 Footrace took place on the facet of Ilshenar, it was a long but thrilling event for all that took part. The race started near the Compassion shrine and followed a path that weaved all over the facet and finished up at the tunnel entrance a bit south of the same shrine. A estimated fifty-five racers took part in the race that had them avoiding not only trees and rocks, but trolls, giant spiders, meers, chaos dragoon elites, imps, jukas, corpsers and many other monster types along with paragons too.

The rules for this race were as follows. No mounts, flying, using moongates, teleports or changes of form. It was a pure running race where you had to follow a trail marked by yellow lanterns. You had to be within 3 tiles of these lanterns during the entire race. If a racer broke any of these rules they would be disqualified from the race.

The winner was John Vaun Mastro with Zylo taking second and Jeremy Shockey taking third place rounding out the top three runners.

EM Barnaby had this to say about future Summerfest 2011 events this week. “We will be holding more events this week for the Summerfest. We will be releasing word of the coming event schedule tonight.” As soon as we here at Stratics find out the schedule for more of the coming events we will post them for you our loyal readers. Till then keep a eye either here or on the EM's Page.
