Baja Roleplaying Community Gathering.

Greetings, Citizens of Baja!

The Baja Roleplaying & Event Alliance [BRPA], in conjunction with our numerous friends and partners in crime throughout this shard and others, would like to invite you to our first annual Roleplaying Community Gathering. This will be an out-of-character meeting, meant to facilitate an open and friendly dialogue on how we as a community might advance our interests and better the roleplaying playstyle on the Baja Shard. All are welcome to attend, Roleplayer and Non-Roleplayer alike. This would be a great way for new and interested individuals to learn more about our shards roleplaying alliance, and get aquainted with our growing community.

Date: Friday, April 3rd.
Time: 6 PM Pacific, 9 PM Eastern
Location: Castle Britannia. We will be meeting in the Royal Council Chambers. In the event that we have problems, we will relocate to the Dawn Malas Outpost just outside Umbra's Western Gate.

We will start the evening with:

- An introductory speech by Nicholas the Old (WarderDragon).
- An introduction to our Allied and Community Guilds.
- A chance for visitors, especially those interested in roleplaying and our community, to briefly introduce themselves.

The agenda is subject to change, as we might not have time to hit every major discussion point on the first meeting. If you cannot make it to this gathering, there will certainly be more in the coming weeks, and we'll change up the time so that everyone has an opportunity to attend.

We've chosen to push the time of the event back by two hours, now to 8pm Pacific Time. Another event on our shard was scheduled for 6pm, and we wanted to make sure that as many folks as possible could attend.

Its a good thing I checked on the thread this morning I was still under the impression it would be 3am for me! Woot! I'm actually happy its been pushed forward a couple hours to early morning my time. This means I can make it with no problems of the usual and all that entails. Others correct this if I'm incorrect, but I believe the gathering will be where Lord British' throne sits.

Cross the bridge and continue due west till you arrive there.

I think we need to do these meetings in more bite-sized chunks.

I want to personally thank each and every one of you all for coming! I wasn't expecting anyone to arrive at all, and instead we recieved a massive crowd, most of whom were patient enough to put up with my ramblings. Unfortunately, we did not even get a sliver of the agenda covered, so we're going to kick off our next meeting sometime in the coming week.

Sadly, I was only able to attend the introductions of the varius guilds. I had something come up and was unable to attend the rest of the event. So how much did I actually miss ? Would some one like to fill me in on what I missed ?

It was an absolutely crazy evening.

You might've heard me mention my Date With A Developer? Well, about twenty minutes before the meeting, EM Seppo messages me and tells me that Developer Mesanna had just arrived, and I should hurry to Avalon if I wanted to talk to her. She informed me that they had looked into the collapse of the Avalon Town Hall, and while they could not restore it to its original state, they could take the remaining decor and do something with it in the area. We discussed that it would be best to get the community involved in such a decision, especially if we can contact one of the three remaining Avalonians (Hazzard, Xanthe, or Orla), before any plans are made. I offered for them to come and visit our meeting, where I hoped to bring the topic up.

We spent the better part of two hours making introductions PaxLair Style, allowing our new and remaining roleplaying guilds a chance to formally introduce themselves and tell the community what they're all about (I even had a couple guilds outside the main alliance come up, including the True Paladins of Baja and the Rebels of Unity). Now that I've had time to think about it, it would have probably been wise to just have one event centered around introductions, and have a separate Roleplayers Summit.

It was about half-way through when EM Seppo messaged me, saying that he would like to make an introduction, which I was absolutely ecstatic about. Actually, to my alliance brothers and sisters, this is why I was so insistant on doing introductions, even if it took the rest of the evening.

I announced our two mysterious guests of honor, the first arrival being Shadowlord...errr, Developer Mesanna! *Grins* She brought up the Avalon Town Hall, and mentioned the paramaters for what could and could not be done. We agreed that it would be best to brainstorm this, and see what sort of decision we could come to (especially since some of the Avalonians remain to this day, despite being inactive).

Seppo then made his own introductions. He raised several good points, and brought up the date of the next Bazaar (I can't remember what date he said, but I think he mentioned April 25th?).

I brought Sleath of the Dark Tower back up, and had him talk about the upcoming Dark Tower Gladitorial Tournement. I will let him make any formal announcements, but I told those present that they have some homework. Go watch Gladiator!

I finally announced that it was getting late, and that we would meet again soon. I also mentioned that I have some plans for an upcoming storyline that we'll be announcing soon.
