Best Shot In The Realm March 2010
submitted by the M!S BSR Mystery Scribe

The Best Shot in the Realm (BSR), a free archery contest held monthly by the Misfits of Society Guild is a long running Shard event previously held by the Society of Archers Guild, and held at the Skara Brae Faire Grounds on a Saturday night each month.

This month's event (which was announced on a short notice) had one of its lowest turnouts, but the talent of the archers present was not missing. The Baja weather this night was 'it is raining', however this open air event is run in any weather. Also on the Shard was another event scheduled that seemed to attract many of the regular archers, but still a new archer showed and could be one to watch in the future.

Nine archers were greeted by the matriarch of the M!S guild ,Toni Fierce, who presented with the night's rules, and with signups completed the 1st round began. Everyone breezed thru this early round with the new archer FISHIE shooting the night's 1st Robin Hood. It could be noted that the small crowd ohhed and ahhhed -- but then saw this RH shooter in the 2nd round post a 30 and was the night's early-out shooter. If the 30 was a fluke then this could be a person to watch in future events. Also in round 2, Cherokee, a monthly winner in 2009 also failed to make 100 points and was a surprise exit.

Round 3 saw Lance and Aragon fail to move onward, with Ahebban posting his 1st 200 and maybe being a contender.

The 4th (and usually final round) found 5 shooters vying for the month's crown, an engraved bow, a million gold check, and what everyone seeks ... a spot in the season's ending shoot-off of monthly winners, and a shot at the one-person-a-year title '2010 Champion of Champions'. Well this round was quickly claimed by Lil Debi (a long time shooter whose history goes back to those years when S|A ran this event and Sire Theoran was the Master of Ceremonies.) Lil Debi just stepped up early and posted the rare double Robin Hood -- 250 points in just 3 shots ... and could not be matched by any of the other shooters.

Toni Fierce presented LIL DEBI with her prizes, then thanked all the shooters braving this rainy night, and the 3rd locked-in end of year shooter was proudly displaying her engraved bow as Toni invited everyone to April's event which will be held on Saturday, April 24th at 8:30 p.m. Pacific (9:30 p.m. Mountain 10:30 Central, 11:30 p.m. Eastern).

Sara's Note: I was unable to attend March's BSR. If anyone has screenshots, and especially one of the monthly winner, Lil Debi, would you please post them? Thanks!
