ATLANTIC MEMORIAL CUP BOAT RACE

7,000,000 Gold Purse

Location: Trammel - Lost lands - Trammel.​

To Enter, be in New Haven at Noon, Sunday, February 20, 2011.

• You will need a ship and a sextant.
• A Gate will be provided to the Start point.
• At the Start point, you will be given a Racing Book.

The race is a timed event and your time starts when you receive your Racing Book!

• Sail to the check points listed in your Racing Book.
• You will be asked 2 questions along the way.
• Write the answers to the 2 questions in the last page of your Racing Book.

The time that you receive your Racing Book, and the time that your ship enters the Finish area, will be recorded.

Winners are those who complete the race in the shortest time and correctly answer the 2 questions.

The purse was donated by Lady Julia, in memory of her dear friend, Maling Kytiao. Maling's first UO character was a Fisherman. She called it her favorite character, because her husband played with her. This kind and generous woman made many friends in the years she played UO. We sail this race with Maling in our hearts and in our memories.

That is a generous prize. Maling Kytiao was a legend on Atlantic, not in least part due to her ability to smell a profitable IDOC from miles away. I hope that this race honors her memory.

Aye, thanks to Lady Julia, 'tis a generous purse indeed. To allow many players to share in this purse, it will be divided as follows & presented in engraved chests:

First Place: 3,000,000 in a Veracity's Treasure Box.
Second Place: 2,000,000 in a Double Exceptional Wooden Box.
Third Place: 1,000,000 in A Ship's Strongbox.
4th thru 13th Place: 100,000 In "Recovered From A Shipwreck" wooden chests.

Any sailor can win - the race course is not long or difficult. But it is a fun course. We mourn Maling's passing. But her friends know that Maling would prefer we celebrate her life.
