[NEWS] A Tale As Old AS... Antiques?

It started with Kate the Event Announcer, informing the gathering crowd that tonight our assistance was being requested by The Museum of Sosarian Antiquities. We were told "Be ready for adventure."

Enter Pablo.

This fine gentleman showed up, with muddied boots and apron and silently opened a portal, motioning for the gathered crowd to follow him thru. We emerged in Nujelm, and entered what appeared to be an empty museum.

Once all were gathered inside the museum, the apparent proprietor showed and introduced himself.

We then learned that Dr. Johan's father was an avid treasure hunter, who searched the world over, trying to gather treasures. Following some of his fathers writings Johan was able to tell us that his father, while on a treasure hunt, fell in love with a savage princess. He had not since been heard from.

As near as he could figure Johan placed his father's last known where abouts, in the swamps south east of Dastard. So that is where we headed.

Upon our arrival at the swamps, the group fanned out to look for any signs of Johan's father. We were met with resistance from the native savage people. The fiercest fighting however occured when we stumbled upon, the Savage Chieftan, and his Savage Guards.

Lightning rained from the sky as the group, slowly, extremely slowly, figured out a strategy to defeat this savage wrecking crew. Upon their demise, a few adventurers found a Mask of the Savage Guard.

Dr. Johan found information that led him to believe his father had taken part in a "proving" ceremony, in order to win the acceptance of the savage tribe. It is suspected that he did not succeed, as he has not been seen since. The ever helpful Pablo, opened yet another portal and on we went.

The savage proving grounds proved to much for many of our group quite quickly. Ancient Wyrm, and snakes were the least of our problems when we discovered the true terror of a Primeval Wyrm. However the people of Legends would not be deterred, and were ultimately victorious! Some even made trophies of the Primeval Wyrm's teeth.

The group could then take heart that they had "technically" passed the savage challenge. With the island clear, the group returned to the Museum, thanks and congratulations were graciously passed around. We were also informed that this would be just the first in a series of adventures that Dr. Johan and Pablo hoped to share with us.

As of yet the museum remains empty still, it is my hope that Dr. Johan managed to secret out somethin to add to his empty dream.

I reeeally appreciate the notification ahead of time for this event.

I also really appreciate how the EMs and the fine Legends folks didn't bother to speak to anyone and let people there was a event going on tonight. y sis and I logged in and saw people calling for a EM. Luc asked is there an event tonnight and NO one anwsered.

If you goal is to drive away longtime players....Keep up the good work EMs your doing a bang-up job.


I swear I'm find less and less reasonsto bother logging in anymore.

There was a notification there would be an event tonight, there were lanterns up at luna bank, and several moon gates including luna...its not like there was no heads up for this event, the lanterns were there for a couple days.

Yeah, I agree with Urza on this one...
There was plenty of notification, anyone who used Brit gate, or was in Luna for that matter, over the course of the last few days shoulda had the message.
It's posted on the boards (see Chipmunk's post) and days of lanterns..not sure what else can be done to notify everyone short of a text to the cell

Okay I'm not gonna fight over this.

However Luc was in game Sat., Sun, and Mon. I was in game sat. and sun. The yellow lantern wasn't not at Luna bank. neither of us got on Tues. so I'm guessing it was put out tues. night.

IMHO (in-my-humble-opinon for non abbreviators) 24 hrs notice is UNACCEPTABLE. The only lantern that has been there awhile is the blue for the Chicken Fight.

I don't read stratics forums every stinking day. Luc does not read stratics forums hardly at all because it upsets her stomach and make her ulcers hurt. Why player should have to depend on a thrid party forum for game info is completely beyond me.

This sort of ridiculousness isn't hurting me personally, but it hurts the shard and the EM program. This is how the road to losing the EM program and accusations of favoritism get started. I remember the "old" EM Program this is the same slippery slope it rolled down too.

I'm already hearing people complaining of EM favoritism, and other crap.
I have vigorously defended the EMs to the best of my ability but how long can one keep defending them when they do bonehead things like this?

The Lantern for this event was out I know more then 24 hours before the event.

If it doesn't hurt you personally then I am unsure why you are the only person I see on this forum complaining about that particular issue, and the only person I have heard in game even comment on it.

Where is the favoritism? In the Items that drop randomly as loot? You think the EMs are rigging events? In the new vending machine devices used to give rewards to ANYONE who double clicks them? or the fact that they don't Email you personally and inform you of when and where events will be held, that seems to be the only thing that would appease you.
Even if the shard was given this "24 hour notice" as you put it...then everyone on the shard was given this same 24 hour notice...sounds pretty fair to me.

Try just once posting something positive, come to the forums one day when your in a good mood, and say something constructive.

The Atlantic EM's had an email notification system for a while. I used to get emails informing me of upcoming events on ATL.

Shoot if people are interested in somethin like that ill email everyone. Just make a new thread and ill send ya all an email as soon as i see lanterns out. Its part of my job anyway as a reporter to keep ya all informed.

You guys should setup something using facebook and texting on phones.
I was in a guild once and when we wanted to raid or go do a harry or something we would "bat phone" people. So that when one person sent the message on facebook people would get a text message on their phones.

Maybe you should set something like that up.

I am not accusing, nor have I ever accused any EM of favoritism!

However Luc and I have heard others complain and make that accusation. Luc has heard much more than I because she's constantly trading, selling and buying items and stuff from people.

Also if you will do some digging you will see I am not first person to comment on the short notice of events.

I'm just concerned that's it. People are quitting like rats deserting a sinking ship, and if they ain't quitting they're moving to other shards.

I want our shard to be active and try to thrive.

I get frustrated with our shard sometimes...so shoot me for caring okay?

Urza lets both chill....heck if ya lived near by I'd take ya out to my favorite pub for a bowl of the best stew and a pint of Guinness.

Speaking of 'pointing things out'... am I the only one that has ever noticed Jirel and 'her sister', Luc, post in the exact same fashion? Read their posts sometimes side by side and look at grammar, sentence structure and even overuse of emotes. It's fascinating. You'd almost.... almost... think they were the same person.

that all that chick does. if it dosnt go her or her sisters way she cries and complains its not fair.
