New Crisis. Where are the bleeding liberals now?

Nearly 3 weeks ago, and Ice storm crippled the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation. Before efforts could begin to restore basic utilities like heat, and water, nearly 2 feet of snow fell, bringing restoration efforts to a halt. Many of these people still have no heat, lights or water.
This is right here in america, happening to people who didnt choose to be where they are.
Like many here and elsewhere I have said, to hell with (insert bass ackwards Island or country here), what about us?
Well, besides sending money, I am also canvassing my local town, charities and the internet seeking support for them.
So here is my call. Put up or shut up. Want help to go to America? Start here. Want to help some poor people to make yourself feel good? Here ye go. Win for both sides.
If ye don't do anything? Shut up.

Not sure what this has to do with liberal vs. conservative. Are liberals holding up aid money to these people? Do you have any liberals in the government of (whatever ass backwords state you live in) or should you be looking at this a different way.

I wonder if the earthquake was in Vancouver how you would react? There is not a competition between suffering people. And if there is it your responsibility to decide who to help.

No doubt the people you are worried about need all the help they can get. But your partisan BS wont help anyone.

What are the Cheyenne River Sioux like? You know any of them or are you one? How come they don't have a casino or the federal funding to fix their reservation? How come no one is helping them or putting it on the news?

I have relatives there, Rose Bud, Pine Ridge, and Broken Arrow. Thus my eagerness to help on any way I can.

As as the democrates control the government, the same ones that whined about the way Kritina was handled (which also had much more difficult strategic problems, including the much forgoten state of mississipi). He may have a valid point.

The Bush Foundation is matching donations to ths cause. [begin sarcasm]The foundation was started by, no not the presidents "Bush", but still some sleezy captialist from the 3m corp. Those darn non-progressives, taking things into their own hands without the BIG government forcing them to.[/end sarcasm]

Donations are still vehemently needed. Please view my previous article for information and visit the Bush Foundation website. The foundation will match donations, dollar for dollar, for a maximum of $25, 000 dollars.

So they not only won't donate unless someone else does it first, but they've put a total cap on how much they'll give too... and quite a low cap too. Better hope those poor unfortunates don't need $30,000 in support eh? But good to see you didn't let factual honesty stand in the way of making a cheap political point out of other people's misery... Oh, nearly forgot, the Governor of South Dakota is Mike Rounds... who is a Republican. Took me less than 5 minutes from the other side of the Atlantic to think "Dishonest right wing ranting? Same problem with a lot of Native American communities. No publicity, no apparatus for publicity. A tribe is like a corporation where no one can be fired, so its hard to make it work efficiently.

Apparently when it's convienant, liberals forget that FEMA is federal not state agency. The governer has no control over FEMA, regardless of political affiliation. The only dishonest reading here is yours. You also are under the misconception that foundations have limitless funds, most of their funds usually are already earmarked for ongoing charity work. You are pety and apparently totaly ungratefull for their charity work.

people through out this country suffer's everyday. From the homeless to the elderly. Personally I believe that if you live in that area, then by all means help. If not then help where and when you can. Just because this has to do with native americans doesnt mean that it should take priority over everything else. I'm sorry for your relitives and I hope everything will be fine but I'd much rather help the people down the street that cant afford thier life saving meds, or the kids going hungry every night here in my own town.
