Honestly, all bids should just go in the thread now. There's no way he can check PM's, ICQ &amp; The thread AND update something... The bids are changing every 30 seconds. He's probably going to wait until people quit bidding and then do 1 final update, give everyone 10 minutes..and then end it.

That's what I would do.
