Ahhh... yes, it's hard for me to imagine playing it in UO. I'm forever frozen back in time, sitting at a kitchen table laden with hand-written character sheets, graph paper, colorful dice, and an array of tiny hand-painted characters - were they lead or pewter? I forget. *sigh*

People still do it. The games have changed though - well there are lots lots more of them and to suit every taste. And you can play online using a virtual gametable as well as in RL.

True. Almost anything is available online now. But there was much to like about the old way, with the more personal interaction of friends around the kitchen table. Perhaps it's the spontaneous and (usually) shared laughter that I miss the most. Naturally, I prefer to forget about the occasional arguments.
