[Fishing] Luck and Fishing?

Hey all

im sure this have been asked before but cant offhand find any threads regarding it so i will ask.

Does luck have any influence on fishing whatsoever? ^^

None on the act of fishing. But luck does influence the quality and amount of loot a monster drops.

Just like in Treasure hunting. Luck doesn't affect what is in the chest, but it does affect the loot you get from killing bad guys.


I don't think there has ever been a statement about whether luck affects "pearl" drops.

it was in particular pearl drops i was interested in.. my new char with now 90 fishing and 200 luck seems to get quite a few more than my already GM fisher with 0 luck.. but perhaps its just coinsidental ^^

I don't think that is unrealistic. Luck affects "drops". Technically pearls are a drop.

I know luck affects the frequency I get pet balls while harvesting queens.

Which is very similar.

It is tied to the Knowledge of Nature racial ability (similar to mining gems and birlliant amber obtained from lumberjacking). The gems, pearls, and amber are considered a special resource. My fisherman has been an elf since Mondain Legacy was released. I receive noticeably more than my friend when fishing for the same duration (we have both been GM way before ML).

The Mining FAQ has similar information regarding the mining gems.
