I believe traces are more useful if you run a poll. That allows you to see if any server is spiking or dropping packets.
Yes a poll would give more detail when you feel the lag. Look for packet loss or longer ping times. Make some test times like in the evening right after you get home and then retest in the morning when the load typically is light.
You can also run a speakeasy.net speed test that will help evaluate your network.
In general, UO has more lag around more items because of all the loading required. Evaluate if you are having lag in town and populated areas or is your lag even around empty areas.

They moved the servers to this Cloud stuff and its been laggier ever since... random spikes etc... horrible unfortunately.
