I am speaking, of course, of the International Haiku Festival, being held this year right here in the United States. In the spirit of this event, I thought it would be fun to hold a haiku contest of our very own, based on the recent UO event with Casca and Melissa!
Sound like fun?
The Rules:
Post your haiku in this thread. You may submit as many as you like, but each one must conform to the basic format and style of haiku: the five-seven-five syllabic structure of the poem, and an emphasis on emotional imagery. In addition, each one must involve the recent "royal council murdered" event.
The Prize:
What else? Bamboo, from the spring turn-in! I'll also throw in a set of bonsai trees.
This contest will run through midnight PST on August 9, and I'll announce a winner shortly thereafter.
So let's see those haiku!
