GM locks, using skeleton key, 3 fails to open a L6 chest, escaping gas each time, open chest to find the 30k gold has disappeared - this shouldn't happen with GM locks and the skeleton key. I'd have been really irritated if I had lost a forged pardon. Should we fail three times and lose stuff with GM locks and a skeleton key? (BTW, I've never seen a whit of difference in chances with a skeleton key compared to regular lockpicks.)

I believe skeleton key increases your roll by 10 or 20%. So if your difficulty required you to roll 800 out of 1000 and you rolled 500 it would buff that roll to 550 or 600 but that doesn't fix a completely bad roll. (I think it was 20%)

I think with gm locks and a skeleton key your chances should be near 100 percent - certainly not three failures in a row

3 fails in a row is near 100%...If you then get 97 sucess in a row!

True - but I've done 100s of L6 chests with skeleton key and fail at least once and often more on almost every chest - just usually don't lose 30k gold
