REAL NAILS WARSTEIN --------------- VERSUS --------------- FAKE NAILS
Rather Nails Warstein made with Real Sugar versus Fake Nails made with Acid

Fake nails is stepping up his game, changed his look, and telling players his ICQ is down,
then giving out his own. Don't be fooled. Ain't nothing like the real thing baby.

Thanks for the heads up.

By the way, since ive heard i have an imposter running around as well, if anyone sees a Brian DeSpell in Haven over the next two days, it is me. However I will not be trading with anyone, so do not accept any trades with any Brian DeSpell unless you confirm via ICQ that it is me.

He is a piece of work, I had 2 dealings with him and both were flaky at best. He was spamming gen chat wanting to pay for "Imbuning" services. (His spelling not mine) So I "Imbuned" the first Item, asked for a mil and he gave me a check for 1,000,000, a check for 700,000 and 3rd check for 486,783. So, a total of 2.1+.
Then an hour later, he's spamming the Gen chat again, looking to pay for Imbuning services, so I said I would do it again. This time when I handed him the wep, he said "will you trade?". "I am a litte low on cash atm." Me being the helpful kinda guy I am, and not knowing his antics, said sure why not. So he then put's a Coupon for a Free Drink from the Casino in trade window. I would not spam gen chat, looking to buy something if I didn't have the $ to pay for said item. But that's just me......

Just a little bit of my run-ins with this cat.

I asked some people about that, and they said it was an entirely different person than the one who scammed my friend, but there is really no way to tell. The one that scammed my friend had one less N in their name. It's an awfully strange coincidence if it isn't the same one though. Especially since the person in the screenshot recalls the second they see me every single time I try to ask them about it :)

I can tell them to log in and talk to you anytime you want, they're notorious for not paying attention to what's happening ingame :>
Generally the only time that character is online, is to deal with vendors, sell/buy something or to bank sit afk (Which doesn't happen much anymore when someone, no names being named, tried and failed to murder her in tram with wild animals. rofl) So nonetheless, when you see that chr, it's prolly doing something useful wherein they will be traveling a lot, or just afk.

On a side note, common sense would dictate that someone not use their prominent name to scam people... Furthermore that those with issue towards such and individual may seek to tarnish the name of said individual. Actually, no wait... That's never happened before

Fact of the matter is, know who your trading with. Icq them, if there are rumors that someone might not be the person they are saying they are, or just dont have a clean rep for one reason another it doesnt hurt to ask around. Knowing the reputation of most the players in Cartel guild, i wouldnt have dealt with a character named after any of there members in the first place : ) No way to know for sure.

@Longtooths and @Captn Norrington - Are we allowed to post ICQs and names now of scammers on this forum as Mithryl did further up this thread? Are we allowed to post screenshots, conversations etc? With new ownership comes new rules so I would like to see if we all can get some clarification on what is and isn't allowed when someone is accused of scamming so no one gets spanked accidentally.

After further consideration, I have locked this thread in retrospect of the things posted above. Although I know this thread was posted only to warn and help the community, it does still break the "no accusing people of scamming" rule. In addition to the personal/guild drama that started.

Removed some posts as well.
