there has been 3 major breakthoughs in cpu's in the last few yrs.
core 2 duo
i7
sandy bridge

sandy bridge came out last week and pc's are starting to show up
I think laptops are out in quarter 2

its faster then the i7 extreme which sells at $1000 and costs around $300
(also i would highly recommend win7)
if your thinking about getting a new computer then definatly go with this processor. :)

Aye, i just saw some tests with the new processor comparing the 6-core i7 EE with the new i7 sandy bridge 2600. Its faster in the games tested and alot cheaper. Since my main pc is an old "c2d" i have considered upgrading for a while. this time with water cooling and all the new stuff. :)
