hunting the void lobster?

Fire Dungeon - not biting
NW Ter Mur Volcano - too shallow
Montor - too shallow
Mt Sho - too shallow
The Abyss - Broken bridge Holy City entrance - too far
1st Mini champ - not biting.
under 2nd bridge - not biting
Lava River Gargoyle side - not biting
pools at Abyssal Lair entrance - not biting
Lava River, Abyssal Lair - not biting
Skeletal Dragon pool - not biting
Primeval Lich pool - not biting.
Passage of tears pools - not biting
Lava River, Human Side - not biting

Fisher is 120 skill

Can anyone think of any lava spots I've missed?

Fire island temple has few lava spots and on Ilshenar you there is a volcano near honor with a dungeon that has lot of lava... also on ilshenar garg city there is lava...

I assume you are using lava traps? Mark_Mythic indicated in a prior post that the void lobster requires the use of a lava trap to catch. If someone would just spill the beans as to what the level book says, . . . . . .

- Destard: not biting
- Delucia passage: not biting
- Volcano lair (ilsh): not biting
- Abyssal Infernal (shrine lava river): not biting

Can't be a location outside a dungeon because only in dungeon is considered "deep water" so we are looking for an exact spot in one of the place we have already look...

Are we interpreting the message "not biting" properly? I find that if you leave the traps in place, eventually they will be pulled under. Perhaps the not biting message is being generated when the trap would otherwise catch a crab or lobster. Since lava does not have crabs and lobsters, maybe a null is "caught", generating the not biting message. If this is the case, traps should eventually catch the rare void lobster when, instead of a null, the rng rolls the void into the trap.

not biting or null is caught doesn't change the fact that if we don't know the right place and the lobster is rare we will never get it...

I was thinking something along these lines myself but not 120 yet so did not want to waste traps

I, too am in the same position. So... if anyone would like to provide me with a 120 I would be more than happy to help out in the search. In fact, I would dedicate the next few months (1-2 hours per day) trying to solve this conundrum. Pacific shard please...

Hint 3: since the Void Lobster is a "Legendary" status, it's practically impossible to catch them if you are not lgm in fishing

I took 'lgm' to mean legendary.

I sort of doubt that the "not biting" is equivelent to "yes they are here, but you didn't catch one this time". The reason I suspect this is that there are a lot of locations, spread over several areas in which this is true. Mark_Mythic indicated that book 6 gives the exact location (it comes out and specifically says where, rather than it being cryptic). If that is true, it seems unlikely that it would include all the places which "not biting" occurs. He DID say that he was suprised how FEW times the book had dropped. That suggests does it not that it has in fact dropped a FEW times? Okies, someone spill the beans.

I never said it had to be 120 I want to be 120 because it would make my chances increased and on long soaks (that you have a better chance to catch named crab/lobster) you have a increased chance to also lose traps so i want the highest possible chance per trap!

The south lava pool is too shallow, as are the NE, SE and SW pools in the Daemon Temple; I couldn't test the NW one as a Greater Dragon lives there, and I didn't feel it was safe to try luring it off on my little fisher! I suspect it's not the spot anyway, as it's the same type of lava as the rest.

There are two other "flowing" types on Fire Island; the one to the North I couldn't find anywhere I could target it. The one to the south, high in the mountains has an inaccessible so far hole in the ground next to it... I wonder if Book 6 reveals a secret way into it? Ahh well, we can dream at least!

The volcano in the desert on Fire Isle doesn't seem to have anywhere I can teleport up to the lip and try fishing in.

Using the in-game searchable maps from Pinco's UI, I went to Destard's Ancient Wyrm room and tried there, but although traps can be deployed, they aren't biting there. I've only been once so I can't recall, but is that lava in the Shimmering Effusion room in the Prism of Light? Maybe we need to escort the fisher to keep the nasties away long enough for a truly epic crabbing session?

In Ilshenar I can see alot of "Red" marked stuff which is possibly lava, I've not been here in over 7 years really! And I will have to check out tomorrow;

However, the only lava spot usable are inside dungeons, and all the places says the same thing, so we need to know the exact spot that can't be found just by random tries

According to book 6, it is in the stygian abyss. I will try out this theory later with my lava traps. I would imagine it's very difficult to catch and may require several lava traps.

According to the information that was given to us, it is very challenging to obtain, even at 120 fishing. Basically you have to leave that trap in and hope it bobs. Might need to wait quite a few minutes, pull the trap then try again.
