how to start garamon's quest?

I keep on tryin to talk to him but nothing happens. any suggestions?

He isn't exactly a quest giver. He gives clues if you say the right words, those clues lead you to how to obtain the key pieces that unlock access to the abyss. There was a guide posted here on stratics of how to obtain the key pieces, I believe it was stickied.
