How to check ping?

Well you bring up another important point. When it comes to gaming a stable connection is far more important than low ping. Packet loss is a killer, you certainly don't want any of that, but if you have to choose between a connection with a ping that fluctuates between 10 and 40, or a connection with a stable ping range between 50 and 60, or even a ping range higher than that, you'll be better off with the stable ping.
