How do I download UO to my new Laptop?

there's a link to both 2D and KR at the bottom right of the stratics main page.
If you're downloading 2D choose the 'ftp' option on the download page.

Can I just copy and paste the folder from my old PC to my new laptop?
Can I just copy and paste the folder from my old PC to my new laptop?
I'm not sure if that would work tbh. The game stores some files in My Documents now, but I suppose patching might sort that one out.

ok thanks a lot!
You need to install the game first, then you can overwrite it with a copy of from your desktop, saves a lot of time with patching, especially KR patching.
Also remember the EA Folder from My Documents as Petra mentioned.
