Yes!! A little detail that some GW2 fans have asked about is in the game. You got mail but not by a mail box. ArenaNet came up with the best idea ever.
A little bird, a carrier pigeon drops it off to you while you are playing in the game. So you could be in mid battle and here comes this bird flying by fast dropping mail off to you and flying away. How real is that? We can now say Guild Wars 2 developers just keep surprising us more and more!

Some fans were commenting on the disconnect of "magically" receiving mail while out in the field. If you look closely at the in-game footage, a carrier pigeon delivers messages to the player when certain story or game conditions are met. There is no physical mailbox you need to check to read your mail. You just click on the letter icon in the upper left and select the message you want to read. Any letters tied to personal story or pacing hearts are voiced by the characters who wrote them. This has been in the game for a few months now, but it's a subtle effect that many people miss because the bird flies by so quickly. Our goal is to keep people immersed in the world, so we created this effect to explain how remote communication between characters can work with simple, believable mechanisms rather than always rely on magic as the default solution.
