Stratics Legend
Delilah Crow left the throne room following the red ethereal warrior’s capture and returned to the jail to check up on the “guest”. She started to open the great metal door to the complex of cells when a glint of red and gold on the ground caught her eye. She bent down for a closer inspection, and found the object to be a pendant with a delicate broken chain. It was a beautiful piece of jewelry - a deep red gem cut to fit the backing of polished gold, but the sight was unsettling. She picked up the pendant carefully and placed it in a pocket out of view.

The ranger stood and proceeded to the cell containing the red ethereal warrior they had captured only hours before. She looked through the iron bars and found the warrior in a pitiful state, sitting in a crumpled heap in the middle of the cell. Feathers lay scattered on the floor all around him, likely from his futile attempts to escape.

“Are you able to talk yet?” Delilah asked through the door.

The warrior shifted his gaze in her direction, his dark eyes studying her face. Still, he said nothing.

“Fine,” she said. She pulled the pendant out of her pocket and held it up for him to see. “Do you recognize this?”

Upon seeing the pendant, the warrior flew into a rage, throwing himself against the door with a gut wrenching yell. He repeated the action until Delilah removed herself and the necklace from the hallway.

Once in the corridor, Delilah leaned against the wall and breathed deeply. She was so accustomed to seeing the noble ethereal warriors at the fortress in Ilshenar that the deranged state of this one startled her a bit. The ranger cast a spell of recall once she regained composure and returned to her office at the castle in Britain. Once there, Delilah took the pendant from her pocket and placed it in a strongbox. She made certain the lock was sufficiently in place before sitting down at the desk..

The incident plagued her thoughts throughout the night, making any form of rest impossible. She never left her office, and tried to catch up on paperwork while she could do nothing else so late at night. The quill she used for writing even brought up thoughts of the ethereal warrior, so she eventually resigned herself to just sitting at her desk, staring at the flickering wax candle.

That was when she came to a decision - she would go back to the jail tomorrow, and every day following until he calmed down enough to comprehend - and hopefully answer - the Royal Guard’s questions. In the back of her mind, Delilah also hoped the virtuous warrior still existed beneath the corruption of the Bloodstone Cult.
