It also happened to gargoyles in the SA beta (because they cant ride mounts), but i'm not sure whether or not it was fixed. I never noticed an issue with non-gargoyles, and did not follow up on checking it before beta ended.

I think he just wanted to save copying it out over again.
The gist of it is, theres a possible bug with ethereal mounts (possibly only the really old ones from 2000 etc) that causes people to lose them.
