EALand Going offline for Migration

8AM PST - Good Morning! We are starting the shutdown sequence now. gk.

Hi,

Today’s move of Test Center 3 went well so we will proceed to move EA-Land to the East Coast tomorrow 3/4/2008.

Here is the schedule:

8:30 AM PST
EA-Land will go offline.
8:45 AM PST
Database Admins to back up database
9:15 AM PST
Start migration of database to East coast
12:30 PM PST
Database Admins finish copy and EA-Land team validates.
1:30 PM PST
Start up EA-Land internally and EA-Land team will run a few tests.
2:00 PM PST
Open EA-Land back to players
This is the plan and if all goes well we expect to be running again by 2:00 PM PST. As we did today we will you updated with general status every few hours.

Hopefully AV and the Rest can be done this week! I really want AV to go tommrow but i know it's only a dream!

yes i am going to whine,
why does TC3 have to go down as well? how come you cant work on 1 city without affecting the other?,and is TC3 going to be down for as long as EA Land? should we expect this to be a "norm" from here on out?
i am asking these questions to a DEV not one of us "wanna-be" dev's,,lol

TC3 is back up.
They posted that it was just going to be a quick 15-30 minute maintenance, and yes it was necessary to do it right then.

10:30 AM PST - Database back up complete. Migration of the database to East
Coast is under way.

No cities are being merged today.

They are moving EALand onto the East Coast servers so that they can run the east coast city merges (which I would assume will start later in the week)

When I try to log in, it gets to 75% and then says internal error. Once I click Okay it goes to a city selector screen with all the slots being empty.....

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about... giving praise where praise is due.... pat them on the back (which is not kissing butt by the way) convinces the team to move faster, and think harder for new ideas for your enjoyment... keep up the great work DEVs and thanks for the positive post

An interesting side note...during todays migragion I lost my front walk. I still have a sidewalk but not in the front. Lee says I might have a rare lot now! W00t! Still it would be nice if they would take the street too so I can have my 3rd side of water that I paid for.
